Bill Irby has 29 years of experience in the defense industry, currently serving as President of MTI Motion, a Steel Partners company, specializing in motors and hardware for aircraft, weapons systems, and commercial equipment. His prior roles include executive positions at Martin UAV (a key team member organizing and closing the sale to Shield AI), L3Harris Technologies, Textron Systems, and Northrop Grumman. He additionally serves as the Chair for the Association for Uncrewed Vehicles Systems International, an advocacy organization focused on the uncrewed systems and products industry. He graduated as an engineer from the U.S. Naval Academy, subsequently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Additionally, he completed an M.S. in Technical Management at Johns Hopkins University.
